Requirements

This role entails overseeing all operations, procedures, and staff within the detention barn, where urine and blood samples are collected for both pre-race and post-race examinations of horses. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Part-time (per diem) employment.
  • Work hours are scheduled between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and may vary according to seasonal demands and operational requirements.
  • Work schedule is vendor controlled and is determined by the racing schedule.
  • Salary: This position is per diem; the daily rate of pay is $400.00.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Graduation from a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor program.

Special Requirement:
  • Possession of a valid license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

Post Employment Requirement:
  • If the employee is not licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania, he/she must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within twelve (12) months of being hired.
  • Possession of a Commission Employee License

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
