This role involves leading and improving library services across Pennsylvania, advising top education officials on policies, and managing programs to expand access to knowledge in public, school, and academic libraries.
You'll oversee funding, conduct studies on library challenges, and build partnerships to train staff and promote innovation.
It's ideal for an experienced library leader passionate about public policy and lifelong learning who thrives in a high-level administrative position.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing advice and counsel to the Secretary of Education on pending legislation that could affect the state’s libraries and recommending new legislation or regulations to achieve statewide library program goals and objectives.
You will have the opportunity to utilize your extensive background to plan, direct, and coordinate the development, expansion, and improvement of library services and programs, while also overseeing the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, Bureau of State Library, and Bureau of Library Development.
Having the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with institutions of higher education and professional development organizations will be essential to establish priorities on the training of librarians and library staff.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
