Full Job Description

  • Under supervision of the General Counsel, perform legal research duties for judges of the Administrative Law Court.
  • Research, summarize and evaluate motions, petitions, transcripts and briefs.
  • Draft and review proposed orders and decisions.
  • Work together with the judges’ law clerks.
  • Provide assistance to the judges and General Counsel, as needed, to include attendance in court hearings.

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school and membership in the South Carolina Bar. Applicants awaiting February bar exam results will be considered.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of professional legal experience involving legal research and writing, such as judicial clerkship or appellate experience; thorough knowledge of administrative law; proficiency in computerized legal research using Westlaw.
