Full Job Description

This position is located in the DEA, Philadelphia Division.

This position(s) primary purpose is to provides administrative support and manage sensitive, high-priority projects for the SAC and Front Office staff.

Applicants applying for the GS-09 must meet one of the following requirements: A.

Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-07 grade level.

Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) Providing administrative support functions to an office; 2) Scheduling meetings, preparing, and distributing meeting materials, such as agendas and other supporting documentation;3) Carrying out specified segments of specific projects (e.g., data collection and analysis, preparing reports, briefings, etc.); and 4) Assisting with travel arrangements for frequent travel.

OR B. Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) full academic years of graduate level education leading to such a degree or a LL.B or J.D. degree, if related OR C.

Combination of Education and Experience: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements.

To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

As a your typical work assignments may include: Schedules meetings, prepares and distributes meeting materials, including notice, agenda, and supporting documentation.

Plans and coordinates travel, accommodations, and transportation arrangements for the SAC and special guests.

Carries out specified segments of specific projects (e.g., data collection and analysis, preparing reports, briefings, etc.) Prepares agendas, briefs of files, and reports for the SAC for use in conference discussions and meetings.

Works with Program Analyst to formulate decisions regarding change in responsibilities or business needs and improves program effectiveness by monitoring and assessing complex management processes and projects.
