DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as primary support to management in the Financial Reporting & Operations Division.
- Supervise staff that processes the activities of Accounts Receivable
- Manage the various revenue streams within each department (including incoming mail, shared mailboxes, etc)
- Oversee departmental transactions for cash deposits, recording, and tracking of bank deposits
- Review and oversee various accounting transactions pertaining to AR, ie. Invoices, refunds, petty cash, requisitions, purchase orders, etc.
- Review and post daily journal entry input (including cash receipts, returned items, chargebacks, revenue transfers) and reconciliations to record financial activities
- Review financial transactions including research and analysis of financial accounting and operating activities
- Monitor cost center expenditures and general ledger accounts functions such as reconciliation, journal entries and data analysis
- Coordinates and prepares financial transactions and management reports, such as monthly projections, annual projections, journal entries, audit responses, and TPIA requests
- Acts as a liaison to departments, internal/external agencies, and organizations to provide assistance in handling inquiries, complaints or problem areas for the various revenue streams
- Develop various management reports for implementation
- Ensure compliance with the departmental operations, policies, and procedures with regards to financial and governmental accounting. Revise and update procedures as needed
- Perform various administrative tasks such as creating HEAR plans/assessments, creating SOPs, approving timecards, and performing coaching
- Perform other duties as requested by division and department management
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.
Requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSRequires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSThree years of professional experience in finance, economics, budget analysis or a closely related field are required.
A Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the above experience requirement.
Professional experience related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Qualifications
Preferences will be given to individuals that have strong financial, accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills, with verifiable expertise in general ledger analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Attention to details and accuracy and candidates who are independent thinkers with a strong work ethic and internal motivation.
