  • Two years of professional experience providing direct social work services in public or private settings, plus a bachelor’s degree in social work, social welfare, psychology, or sociology
  • Ability to conduct psychosocial assessments and implement person-centered interventions
  • Skills in clinical documentation compliant with policies and regulations
  • Experience in crisis intervention, grief counseling, and behavior modification
  • Full-time availability for 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no telework option

Requirements

As a Social Worker 2, you will provide a full range of professional services and support to residents and their representatives, coordinating care through active participation in the interdisciplinary team. In this role, you will ensure all clinical documentation is accurate and compliant with policy requirements and regulatory standards, reflecting the frequency and nature of services provided. Tasked with addressing complex behavioral and psychosocial needs, you will conduct assessments, implement person-centered interventions, and offer expert consultation to other disciplines to enhance behavior management programs. Additionally, you will serve as a key advocate by informing residents of their rights, managing advanced directives, and investigating grievances. This position involves facilitating civic engagement through voting status interviews and providing therapeutic counseling to residents and families. Utilizing modalities such as grief counseling, crisis intervention, and behavior modification, you will help individuals navigate personal challenges to improve their overall social and emotional functioning.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week/7.5 hours per day)
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment); or
  • Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
  • Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
  • A master's degree in social work or social welfare.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.


Special Requirement:
  • This position requires an active license as a Social Worker or Clinical Social Worker issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
