The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and highly organized Social Worker to join our team.

In this position, you will work closely with DOC staff and community organizations to coordinate and manage services tailored to the unique needs of incarcerated individuals.
You will deliver professional casework support to inmates housed in specialized units that offer treatment and reentry programming.
Key responsibilities include providing guidance, crisis intervention, counseling, and support to inmates and their families.
You will help motivate and empower inmates to develop and utilize their strengths to improve their social, economic, emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
You will facilitate individual and group counseling sessions as part of reentry and discharge preparation.
Your duties will involve preparing comprehensive written reports documenting inmates’ progress and adjustment during incarceration, as well as providing recommendations to courts, parole authorities, and other stakeholders.
Additionally, you will manage complex cases, often involving both mental health and correctional components, and use your understanding of systems and their interactions to make informed, independent decisions that support positive outcomes for the inmates you serve.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
Additional pay will be considered for those who currently possess or obtain licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Counselor issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselors.
Documentation will need to be provided at interview to receive additional pay consideration.
