Requirements

As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will help our team provide a variety of services to children and their families, as well as support the smooth operation of Washington County Children and Youth. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Transportation - scheduling, planning, and arranging transportation or transporting children, parents, and families to court hearings, parenting and placements, and appointments.
  • Visitation - scheduling, planning, and supervising parent child visitation.
  • General Services - assisting and supporting agency Casework staff in the delivery of mandated, court ordered, and planned services.
  • Record Maintenance - maintaining reports and case records.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position includes working evening and weekend hours.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $37,576.50 (before taxes). After completion of one year of service, the position will automatically progress to a County Social Services Aide 2 at the annual salary of $40,267.50 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
