Job Description

Summary

This job involves coordinating services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, managing client authorizations, handling billing, and tracking data to ensure smooth support for families and providers.

It's a hybrid role in Tacoma, starting fully in-office for 30 days then mostly remote with some office time.

A good fit would be someone detail-oriented who enjoys teamwork, data work, and helping build community support systems.

This is a hybrid position. The first 30 days will be in-office, then it will be two (2) days per week in the office with additional in office days based on business needs.

As a professional in the Developmental Disabilities Division, you will be a core member of the team that coordinates a variety of services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families.

You will be working with team members, fiscal staff, contracted providers, and Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS) Case Resource Managers to manage client service authorizations, support billing processes, and track and report related billing and outcome data.


The Developmental Disabilities Division contracts with agencies in the community to provide:

  • County-wide information and education targeted at individuals across the lifespan.
  • Early support services for children with developmental delays from birth to three years.
  • Supported Employment and Community Inclusion programs for youth and adults aged 19 and older.

How to be Successful in the Role:

The successful candidate will have an interest in contributing to the developmental disability community by way of strong data management and Excel skills, collaborative approaches, critical thinking, and attention to detail in all aspects of their work.

This team member will regularly use multiple data management systems to facilitate accurate and timely authorizations of client services, support monthly billing, validate data accuracy, fiscal coding, and rates, maintain user accounts, contribute to the development of a variety of program reports, complete support software testing and troubleshooting, and track and follow up on tasks to completion.

Throughout the onboarding process, you will meet with your Supervisor and the team regularly to discuss expectations, set goals, identify priorities, and gain familiarity with current policies, procedures, and strategic measures.

Core Daily Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing technical assistance to contractor
  • Assist with data collection, research, and analysis for specific programs.
  • Assist with tracking, testing, and troubleshooting software development issues and enhancement requests.
  • Drawing on local data as well as national data, trends, and promising practices, assist with the creation and production of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on system-wide and program specific performance for internal and external audiences.
  • Review and maintain an awareness of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting program services and client groups.
  • Prepare and/or review reports.

Qualifications

  • Additional education or experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or social work, or a related field, and
  • One (1) year of professional social services work experience which includes work with related programs, contracts, planning, or services required.
