The immediate vacancy is with the Department of Health in Lihue, Kauai.

Social Service Aid II - $3,201 per month (SR-07, Step C)

Social Service Aid III - $3,333 to 4,221 per month (SR-09, Step C to I)

Social Service Assistant IV - $3,606 to 4,563 per month (SR-11, Step C to I)

Requirements

These positions are located in the Epidemiology and Information Services (EIS) section, Kauai District Health Office (KDHO), Department of Health (DOH). the function of this organization unit is to provide cross-cutting services to Kauai District Health Office programs. This unit supports Division-wide program planning, development, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and communication regarding division-wide initiatives and program-specific activities.
The primary purpose of this position is to function as a culturally responsive liaison between historically underserved communities and KDHO's comprehensive social service programs, including public health, case management, early intervention, and nutrition services. The position is responsible to promote health equity, foster trust and reduce barriers and care by facilitating access to professional services.

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Basic Education/Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent; or experience which demonstrated the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions, a high degree of verbal skill and the ability to make basic mathematical computations, including averaging.Specialized Experience: One (1) year for the Level II; two (2) years for the Level III and for the Level IV, three (3) years of experience in providing supportive services to professional workers in a social service or a health related agency e.g., performing clerical tasks in processing various documents, transporting clients and materials to and from various destinations, explaining to clients or tenants the services available, assisting in overseeing group activities such as bowling and swimming.

Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
