Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!

MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community.

We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have three years of recreation/leisure service management which demonstrates knowledge of the goals, philosophy, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning, administering and conducting leisure time activities.

Must have general knowledge of the Marine Corps mission and MCCS programs. Must have the ability to assist in coordinating volunteer opportunities with command, community, and civic leaders.

Must have the ability to supervise large groups of people and have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Bachelor's degree in recreation or related field highly desirable.

SMP Marines are located throughout Hampton Roads and local travel is required including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the programs operational tempo.

Must possess a valid driver's license. Incumbent is required to obtain a CPR and first aid certification within the first three months of employment, and food handling certification. Major Duties:

Represents the SMP at conferences, seminars, workshops and formal and informal meetings attended by diverse personnel as directed by SMP Coordinator.

Assists with preparing and conducting briefings and orientations, concerning the various aspects of the SMP for commands, visitors, newly arrived single and unaccompanied service members, base organizations, and local community entities.

The program addresses Quality of Life recommendations for single and unaccompanied service members.

Programming will include, but is not limited to; community service, health and wellness, life skills, career progression and recreation activities.

Assist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluation of the Hampton Roads (HR) region wide SMP.

Assist in developing, scheduling, organizing, publicizing, directing and evaluating both recurring and non-recurring activities.

Coordinates special events and joint community programs, which ensure effective use of facilities and other resources. Coordinates programs with other MCCS departments as well as outside sources.

Assist in forming, coordinating and maintaining the SMP-HR and SMP-MCSFR Councils to address QOL recommendations, develop and deliver programs and maintain communication with single and unaccompanied service members on geographically dispersed installations.

Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets (APF and NAF) for inclusion in overall MCCS budget. Responsible for all supplies and equipment necessary for operations.

Ensures proper internal controls are established and adhered to, including property and cash handling.

Assist in ensuring the safety, security, and sanitation inspections are conducted and routine maintenance of facility is performed.

Assists in resolving complaints from patrons and solicits feedback to improve quality of service provided. Performs other related duties as assigned.
