Job Description

Summary

This role involves leading efforts to prevent sexual assault and support victims within a U.S.

Navy installation in Australia, including running training programs, coordinating with local agencies for victim care, and advising leaders on related policies.

It's ideal for someone with experience in victim advocacy or social services who is passionate about helping people in crisis and comfortable working in a military environment overseas.

The job requires strong organizational skills to manage programs and build partnerships effectively.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent in sexual assault prevention, victim advocacy, or interpersonal violence programs
  • In-depth knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DoN) Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) programs
  • Familiarity with local, state, federal laws, and military regulations on sexual assault, harassment, and victim support
  • Skills in planning, organizing, and implementing prevention and response programs for interpersonal violence
  • Ability to deliver training and education on sexual harassment and assault awareness
  • Experience in coordinating with law enforcement, legal, counseling, medical, and community resources for victim services
  • Strong communication and liaison skills to interface with military and civilian agencies

You will serve as a SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE COORDINATRO (SARC) in the US NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY STIRLING. The location for this position is Rockingham, Australia.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Knowledge of the DoD and DoN SAPR programs, along with local, state, federal laws, and military regulations and policies pertaining to sexual assault, victim advocacy , and other acts of interpersonal violence sufficient to plan, organize, implement, and carry out the components of an interpersonal violence prevention and response program.

- Knowledge of a wide range of essential support, advocacy services, liaison services, community resources and care for victims of sexual harassment in accordance with generally accepted procedures and techniques.

- Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual harassment training.

  • You will provide oversight and evaluation of sexual assault awareness, prevention, training and victim advocacy at the installation.
  • You will advise installation leadership on legislative policies, programs, and initiatives regarding the prevention of sexual assault and response services to victims.
  • You will establish relations with a variety of organizations and coordinating with them to provide victim support services in a wide variety of areas, such as law enforcement investigation, legal, counseling and medical.
  • You will interface with military and civilian agencies to identify resources and services to promote availability of victim support systems for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment.
  • You will communicate assignment, milestones, and deadlines to SAPR VA's as directed by supervisor, to achieve specific tasks, produce reports, and deliver victim assistance services.
  • You will ensure SAPR personnel receive proper training to fulfill requirements of their positions.
  • You will accept official reports of sexual assault as needed, providing referrals and informing victims of their options.
  • You will provide referrals and non-clinical support to Service member victims of sexual harrassment.
