Full Job Description

This National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position is for a SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE COORDINATOR (SARC), Position Description Number NGT5899000 and is part of 114 FW in Sioux Falls, SD.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: -Onboard T5 and T32 technicians of the South Dakota National Guard BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level.

Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources.

Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures.

Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of DoD and Service specific programs and structure, along with local, state, federal, and military laws; regulations; policies; and executive orders pertaining to sexual assault victim advocacy sufficient to plan, organize, implement, and carry out the components of a SAPR program.

Knowledge of accepted practices and procedures associated with victim advocacy, social services delivery systems, principles, and behavioral theories relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault, and other acts of interpersonal violence.

Knowledge of essential support and advocacy services, liaison resources, community networks, and best practices for aiding victims of sexual assault, adhering to established procedures.

Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual assault training and brief installation leadership, SAPR VAs, first responders, and other stakeholders on the policies, practices, procedures, issues, and concerns associated with sexual assault and victim advocacy.

Skill in assessing installation program needs to accomplish goals and objectives, evaluating program results and effectiveness, and recommending and/or implementing solutions for improvements.

Knowledge of complex organizational dynamics, impact of management styles, organizational cultures, and ethics sufficient to identify and propose changes that resolve systemic problems.

Knowledge of the available military and civilian resources on-installation and off- installation, what each resource can provide for a victim, and limitations and/or exceptions to confidentiality that may apply for to each resource.

Major Duties:

As a SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE COORDINATOR (SARC), GS-0101-12 you will: .This position is located at the Wing in a Non-IRC Funded position.

The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) is the single point of contact to coordinate response activities when a sexual assault is reported within their area of responsibility (AOR).Responsible for assigning, monitoring, managing, and documenting victim assistance and advocacy activities performed by the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocates (VA) at the tactical (e.g., command) level, SARCs will serve as team leads for SAPR VA teams.

SARCs are authorized to perform sexual assault victim advocate duties and will provide a non-clinical response that is trauma-informed, gender-responsive, culturally competent, and recovery-oriented.

Incumbent will be notified of all reports of sexual assault within their AOR.

SARCs will report to, be supervised, and evaluated by, and have direct and unimpeded access to the Supervisory Principal SARC.SARCs will also have direct and unimpeded access to the Commander when acting on behalf of the Supervisory Principal SARC or when a victim is experiencing a safety issue.
