Summary
This job supports social workers in helping families and children facing challenges like abuse, neglect, or economic hardship by assisting with case plans, foster care arrangements, and adoption processes to ensure kids find safe, permanent homes.
It's a good fit for someone with some college education in human services fields who is compassionate, organized, and eager to make a difference in child welfare, even without prior experience for the entry level.
The role is temporary but could lead to a permanent position in Michigan's health and human services department.
Key Requirements
- Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) with at least 15 semester (23 term) credits in human services areas like social work, sociology, psychology, or related fields
- For grade 8: No specific experience required
- For grade 9: One year of experience equivalent to Services Specialist Assistant 8
- For grade E10: Two years of experience equivalent to Services Specialist Assistant 8 or one year equivalent to grade 9
- Attach official transcripts, resume, and cover letter to apply
- Valid driver's license (Michigan or equivalent from another state with driving record if applicable)
- Ability to work at 51111 Woodward Ave, Pontiac, MI 48342, with possible remote or hybrid options within Michigan
