The Department of Corrections is seeking a dedicated Service Occupations Teacher to join our technical education team.
In this impactful role, you will provide hands-on vocational instruction in warehouse operations and material handling to inmate students at the State Correctional Institution at Phoenix.

In this position, you will assess inmates’ abilities to determine their suitability for the program and place them within the appropriate curriculum.
You will adjust instructional materials to meet student needs and provide both classroom and hands-on shop instruction.
Responsibilities include assigning and evaluating homework, creating and administering tests, and providing a final evaluation for each student.
Additionally, you will monitor inmate behavior, set classroom rules and procedures, and address disruptive behavior by taking appropriate corrective action and documenting all actions taken.
This role requires you to independently select effective teaching methods, make necessary curriculum adjustments, and contribute recommendations for departmental procedures, policies, and curriculum development.
