This job is for a server in a Marine Corps community dining facility, where you'll prepare dining areas, serve food and drinks to guests at events and meals, and ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.

Skills and Knowledge: Skill to serve beverages and meals in the proper manner and application of appropriate steps of service sequence.
Knowledge of safe food handling techniques and proper table service procedures.
Knowledge of the composition of all food items on the menu, whether American or International cuisine; and the available beverages.
Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons when serving alcohol and to communicate to management. Responsibility: Assigned stations by supervisor and given any special instructions necessary.
Responsible for complying with standard methods and procedures such as conduct, etiquette, dress code, and serving techniques.
Responsible for learning and understanding menus and asking necessary questions prior to each meal service or beginning of event.
Physical Effort: Work requires the use of arms, hands, and legs, and involves prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and light lifting.
Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
Working Conditions: Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat, and they are exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and slippery floors when in the kitchen area.
Major Duties:
Reviews and understands Banquet Event Order (BEO), including the menu, event agenda, timeline and décor.
Performs necessary preparations in assigned area prior to opening the dining room including; vacuuming, cleaning and preparing the dining room; setting the tables and buffets with cloths, polishing silverware and glasses, condiments, napkins, and decorations.
Prepares back-up tables with supplements such as butter, ice, coffee, fruits, juices, salads, and breads. Serves beverages and meals tableside.
Replenishes food and service ware dependent on event type and cleans throughout event.
When meal or event is completed, or as directed, clears and cleans, and breaks down or resets tables in preparation for the next guests.
Familiarity and ability to correctly operate and clean all machines and equipment required to perform duties. Adheres to safety regulations and standards.
Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures.
Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly.
Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards.
Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as required.
