About DTMB: The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

About the position: As a Senior IT Quality Assurance Analyst, the employee will serve as a software tester - ensuring system requirements aretestable and accurately met, perform preliminary ADA/SOM Standards reviews of systems, assist with application vulnerability security scanning, and ensure DTMB and vendor partners deliver a quality tested solution to our agencies.

This position is an advocate for adherence to SOM PSPs, helping to ensure secure access, use and storage of various data supporting business operations.

In addition, this position works closely with business partners to uphold quality standards across our IT systems, web sites, web applications, mobile sites, and mobile applications.

This position is critical for coordinating efforts between technical and business teams, completing quality assurance activities, advocating for adherence to SOM PSPs, and providing application and customer support for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), and the Department of Military and Veteran Affairs (DMVA).

This individual will be looked upon to provide technical support to other team members and evaluate new development tools and agency systems.

Evaluate, document, and inform DTMB management and supported client agency of impact and risks to existing IT solutions due to proposed legislation, enhancement requests, or changes in governmental processes or procedures.

Actively participate in the development and implementation of assigned client agency’s IT strategic direction/plan. Mentors other DTMB staff on Quality Assurance best practices.

Position Location: This position is located in Lansing, MI. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Requirements

Education

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12
Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.

Experience

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12
Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.

Qualifications

Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12
Possession of an associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in computer science, information assurance, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, IT project management, or mathematics and two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician; or two years (4,160 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.

OR

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years (8,320 hours) of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
