You will serve as the policy lead for a portfolio of regions or sectors that may include but not limited to: Europe; South/Central Asia; Indo-Pacific; Middle East, North Africa; Sub-Saharan Africa; Western Hemisphere; Energy & Critical Minerals; Partnerships; Information & Communications Technology; & Infrastructure; undertaking special projects; & assisting in formulating & implementing major DFC policies, activities, & objectives.
Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your experience in all of the following: Experience coordinating with the interagency on political, economic, commercial, and/or national security issues; Experience formally or informally supervising teams, working groups, and/or projects; Experience preparing thorough, written documents for principal briefings and communicating and interacting with high-level officials.
Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This announcement may be used to fill similar positions, if additional vacancies occur. Major Duties:
As a Senior Policy Officer (Managing Director), you will be responsible for: Monitoring and analyzing important regional or sectoral political and economic events, keeping senior leadership and regional working group informed of significant trends affecting U.S.
national interests and DFC equities. Fostering collaborative relationships with relevant country and regional offices in adjacent U.S. government agencies and respective project leadership.
Partnering with business unit leadership as necessary, to identify and mitigate issues.
Assisting in negotiating and resolving issues and differences that cut across DFC offices and departments by enhancing regionally focused communication and policy coordination.
Identifying policy-driven transaction parameters and help remove impediments for investment transaction officers.
Coordinating routinely with DFC's Office of External Affairs (OEA) on substantive inputs for press, Congressional, and non-U.S. Government engagements.
In consultation with OEA, prepare briefings for and facilitate conversations with congressional staffers.
Providing knowledge, subject matter expertise, and strategic direction on issue areas including but are not limited to critical infrastructure, critical minerals, information and communications technology (ICT), health, energy, financial services, and agribusiness.
Providing strategic counsel to the Office of Foreign Policy, the CEO and DCEO, the Chief Policy Officer, and the Head of Investments /Chief of Staff on foreign policy and national security matters and assist in negotiating and resolving issues and differences that cut across DFC offices and departments by enhancing regionally focused communication and policy coordination.
Identify policy-driven transaction parameters and help remove impediments for investment transaction officers. Supervising a team of policy officers.
