Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking two highly motivated and experienced Senior Civil Engineering Specialists to join our Planning & Scheduling (P&S) Unit. The Sr. CE Spec (Sr.
Planner) is the individual who is responsible for executing planning activities identified in the Planner role, and providing senior level analysis for planning processes, data quality assurance, maintenance strategies, performance reporting, and supporting with taking the lead on P&S objectives to ensure that effective, accurate, and complete work orders are released for the field crews.
This includes creating and maintaining a comprehensive long-range plan intended to guide project delivery, resource forecasting, capacity analysis, budget preparation, and options analyses across our Drainage and Wastewater System Maintenance (DWWSM), Utility Operations and Maintenance (UOM), and Solid Waste (SWD) Lines of Business.

Data Analytics: Support reporting tools (i.e., Tableau, Excel, or other) in developing and providing reports to customers related to asset performance, emergency response times, job costs, schedule compliance, and other KPI’s that are essential to division(s) operations across three (3) Lines of Business.
Provides SME analysis for workload planning.
Plan & Specification Review (Utilities): Reviews plans and specifications for Utility Operations and Maintenance, Drainage and Wastewater System Maintenance, or Solid Waste Division projects and project support, constructability, and maintainability; reviews or checks-off if review is not needed.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to provide comprehensive reviews, coordinate with project teams, and ensure adherence to line-of-business standards.
Maximo management & Quality Assurance, Quality Control: Provide quality control for work order data and work order management.
Oversees creation and maintenance of Job Plans, Preventative Maintenance plans, assets management, inventory support or other in Maximo.
On regular schedules or as needed reviews and edits as required in collaboration with field staff, engineers, or other key customers.

Education: An Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or two years of college level coursework in engineering and construction technology.
Or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class.
Licenses or Certificates: Current Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
