Job Description

Summary

This role involves advising senior leaders in the Department of Energy's Office of Legacy Management on human resources strategies, analyzing organizational performance, and managing training and administrative functions to support environmental management programs.

A good fit would be someone with strong experience in HR policy, leadership support, and communicating complex ideas to various groups, ideally from a federal or government background.

Full Job Description

This position is part of the Office of Legacy Management, Department of Energy.

As a Senior Organizational Strategist, you will serve as a Senior Organizational Strategist, human resource management policy advisor, and assistant to the Deputy Director for the Office of Legacy Management (LM).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of TOTAL 3 of the following: Formulating comprehensive analytical recommendations for leadership concerning pivotal environmental management programs and policy challenges.

Supporting senior leaders by conducting research on key human capital management and policy challenges.

Assisting with communicating intricate technical and administrative human capital information to influence and inform diverse stakeholders. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

As a Senior Organizational Strategist, you will: Analyze and evaluate the performance of specific Department of Energy (DOE) divisions.

Oversee all functions related to human capital, training, and overall administration within LM.

Evaluate performance management systems and their data to ensure they are correct, effective, and align with the LM mission. Manage the LM telework program and advise leadership on policy and reports.

Lead the training and development activities for LM, such as coaching, mentoring, and performance plans.

Serve as liaison to Human Resources, interpret union contracts for the organization, and advise leadership on related policies.
