This job involves working for South Carolina's state government to review and analyze budgets for various agencies, ensuring they align with the governor's priorities while monitoring spending and performance.
You'll research programs, handle financial requests, and provide expert advice to help manage the state's overall budget effectively.
It's a great fit for someone detail-oriented with a background in finance or economics who enjoys policy work and problem-solving in a team setting.
Process agency budget documents throughout the fiscal year, including special expenditure requests, transfers, FTE Management, etc., to ensure authorized funds are used in the manner prescribed by law.
Gather information from agencies as requested for statewide projects and surveys and oversee budget processes.
Assist agencies in the development of performance metrics and analyze the relationship between funding levels and agency activities and performance.
Make recommendations regarding plans for agency budgets to ensure resources are identified and directed in an appropriate manner to accomplish the priorities established by the Governor's Office.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, political science, or a related field with at least three (3) years of relevant experience conducting financial analysis, performing financial projections, or monitoring program performance.
A master's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, accounting, or economics may be substituted for up to two (2) years of relevant experience.
