Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This role involves advising a high-level official in the U.S. Treasury Department on policies to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, including reviewing proposals and representing the U.S.
in international discussions. It requires deep expertise in financial risks and intelligence analysis to help shape government strategies against fraud and threats.
Ideal candidates are experienced professionals from government, finance, or intelligence backgrounds who thrive in advisory positions at the senior executive level.
This position is located at Departmental Offices,Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.
As a Senior Advisor - Under Secretary TFI, you will provide support to the Under Secreatary and develop and implement Treasury policies and procedures.
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-15: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes performing advisory work by representing the U.S.
in multilateral fora identifying risks associated with anti-money laundering (AML)/counter-terrorist financing.
Experience could include -Identifying risks for financial fraud, money laundering, or terrorist financing in commercial and private banking -Experience with intelligence analysis for the military or intelligence community regarding terrorist and terrorist financing threats The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
Major Duties:
As a Senior Advisor - Under Secretary TFI, you will: - Serve as a key advisor, provide expert level advice, guidance and support to the Under Secretary.
- Assist the Under Secretary in developing policies and procedures needed to accomplish Treasury and TFI goals and objectives.
- Reviews policy proposals from TFI component offices or from the interagency that impact TFI, makes recommendations to the Under Secretary, and proposes alternatives or changes to such proposals as necessary.
