Full Job Description
Completes assigned complex accounts receivable duties pertaining to the processing, monitoring, maintaining, verifying and reconciling of account receivable data and transactions related to agency funds in SCDOT and SCEIS. Routinely analyses accounting ledgers and sub-ledgers activities as assigned and/or required to determine correctness and accuracy of financial information and processes.
Serves as the primary accounts receivable expert for assigned accounts/functions/programs. Responsible for the analysis, reconciliation and preparation of project reimbursement billing for assigned accounts and ensures they are reviewed by the appropriate SCDOT offices before they are billed.
Independently completes complex accounts receivable account analysis and reconciliations for SCDOT and/or SCEIS relating to general ledger accounts. Ensures reconciliations include supporting documentation. Performs research to align balances of the agency and SCEIS.
Prepares, verifies and submits to management financial reports, entries and adjustments for accounts as assigned based upon analysis or in response to requests from management. Financial reporting may be for internal and external purposes and from any and all systems used to house financial information.
Reviews outstanding account receivable balances and research the payment status for outstanding accounts as assigned. Pursues standard collection practices for all unpaid amounts in accordance with State and SCDOT policy and procedures.
Cross trains and performs other accounts receivable duties as requested and assigned by management including fiscal year closeout. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and one-half (1.5) years of professional experience in a related area, such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
