Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Expeditionary Warfare Training Group of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Examining and resolving security problems; Investigating and analyzing security violations; Utilizing security equipment, devices and security program relationships, policies, concepts, principles, processes and practices in order to implement and monitor security program.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be serving as Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, PACIFIC (EWTGPAC) Security Specialist providing security management, training, and administrative expertise for implementation and management of EWTGPAC's Security Program.
  • You will review and interpret directives issued by higher authority and ensure uniformity in the management and processing of security information throughout the command.
  • You will participate in the development of security briefings or training relative to established procedures as deemed necessary by the command and higher authority tasking.
  • You will evaluate derogatory information and recommends whether security clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked, or denied.
  • You will review and maintain tracking system for all background investigation reports to determine security eligibility of individuals for access to sensitive information, material, resources, or work areas.
  • You will receive and transmit security clearance information to and from other commands and activities participating in classified training, conferences, and briefs.
  • You will conduct risk assessments, as needed, to facilitate security-in-depth determinations and to aid in identification and selection of supplemental controls that may need to be implemented.
  • You will provide guidance on matters pertaining to the safeguarding and handling of classified and controlled unclassified information (CUI) materials/documents.
