Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-GS-09 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, which must include the following experience: supporting Security Operations by monitoring closed circuit television (CCTV), operating physical access and key control systems (PACS), conducting records administration duties, and implementing information security protocols.

OR Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D.

if related from an accredited college or university. OR Have a combination of education and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirement for this position.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

As a Security Specialist you will: Perform all functions necessary to operate multiple Electronic Security Systems (ESS) including emergency monitoring and surveillance equipment, Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Emergency Notification systems, Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) for the purposes of preventing and discouraging crime, protecting property, and ensuring safety.

Answer the emergency telephone lines and contact other appropriate personnel 24/7. Serve as the key hub for all security and internal emergency actions and incidents.

Manage the physical security mailbox, other mailboxes, and respond to security related questions and request for access.

Coordinate emergency response including notifications and is familiar with Incident Command Systems (ICS) and National Incident Management Systems (NIMS).

Utilize designated Visitor Management Systems and other designated visitor processing systems to support visitor processing.
