The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as the Special Security representative for the 726th Air Control Squadron.

The incumbent is the civilian consultant for physical, personnel, information, and industrial security matters that affect the Sensitive Compartmented Facility at Mountain Home AFB, ID.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes applying Knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel, and industrial security assignments, advising operating officials, and developing guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls.

Knowledge of criteria, equipment, or techniques for at least one area of security specialization (personnel, physical, etc.) to resolve well-defined questions or conditions.

Knowledge of standardized applications or established variations in security criteria involving considerations such as clearance level required, adjudication of security clearances when clear cut derogatory information is present in the investigative information, nature of material or information to the protected, cost-benefit relationships for security devices or equipment systems, and similar considerations.???????

OR EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.

One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Practical knowledge of commonly applied security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve moderately complex security problems.

Knowledge of DoD and Air Force doctrine, policies, and instructions to coordinate objectives and develop plans for interrelated security programs.

Knowledge of security program relationships to make recommendations allowing for differing program requirements, and multiple security objectives.

Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing facts; drawing conclusions; devising solutions to problems; identifying changes and trends; and preparing and presenting information to leadership.

Skill in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to successfully accomplish the mission.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

DUTIES: DUTY 1: Administers the Physical Security Program for the organization. DUTY 2: Executes and enforces compliance with the organization personnel security program.

DUTY 3: Serves as Information Security program specialist executing and enforcing operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of an integrated information security program.

DUTY 4: Serves as the organization's representative for Industrial Security issues. DUTY 5: Serves as the organization's representative for Foreign Disclosure issues.
