Job Description

Summary

This job involves protecting an Air Force organization and its subunits from threats like espionage, terrorism, and unauthorized access to sensitive information vital to national security.

The role requires overseeing security programs, including information and personnel security, to ensure the safety of resources and support the mission.

A good fit would be someone with experience in security administration, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle complex security challenges, ideally from military, government, or private sector backgrounds.

The primary purpose of this position is to To serve as security specialist for an organization with subordinate organizations below them to protect resources from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to the organization's mission interests, national defense or national security.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

This is a GG grade 12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).

The GG 12 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS 12 level.

The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

***Salary Ranges includes local market supplement*** DUTIES Serves as security program specialist executing and enforcing compliance with operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of an integrated information security program.

Interprets Air Force (AF), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal regulations for information security processes as they apply and are implemented within the organization Executes and enforces compliance with the organization personnel security program.

Interprets AF, DoD, and national regulations and laws for Personnel Security processes as they apply and are implemented within the organization.

Serves as the organization's representative for Industrial Security issues.

Maintains an in-depth knowledge of multiple customer missions to facilitate the protection of classified and SCI access as required by contract performance.

Administers the Physical Security Program for the organization.

Uses comprehensive knowledge of the integrated organization's mission to advise commanders and or involved parties on security facilities/equipment/alarm installation, maintenance, and use.

Reviews plans and makes recommendations on operations and maintenance on physical/resources security inputs.
