Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Ocean Systems Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.

Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at GS-12 or GS-13 grade level.

The salary shown includes the locality of 36.47% The salary range for positions filled at the GS-12 is $104,349 to $135,657 The salary range for positions filled at the GS-13 is $124,085 to $161,313 GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Planning and implementing special program security, program access request procedures and inspection/surveillance procedures. 2.

Defining requirements and execution phases to meet mission requirements and deadlines. 3.

Developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements in support of leadership team(s).

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying a broad knowledge of security disciplines to independently manage security programs; 2.

Serving as a subject matter resource on specialized security programs by providing guidance to staff on access requirements, conducting security briefings, and ensuring compliance with established directives.

  • You will serve as the Area Security Officer for classified programs in the Ocean Facilities Department.
  • You will develop and implement policies and procedures for the personnel security program within the Ocean Facilities Department.
  • You will review requests for security clearances and special access and request investigations.
  • You will conduct security training and education.
  • You will evaluate effectiveness of existing security practices and recommend necessary control requirements, procedures, and facilities.
