One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Developing and implementing organizational security policies and procedures OR evaluating projects for security relevance and providing security guidance and recommendations Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Develop and implement organizational security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive and classified information, ensuring the physical safety of personnel and assets.
  • Manage facility security for multiple classified facilities and SCIFs, including access control, accreditation maintenance, and compliance with security regulations.
  • Provide security guidance and recommendations for projects, ensuring compliance with Federal, department, and agency security policies.
  • Conduct security education and awareness programs for personnel, ensuring proper handling of classified information and adherence to security protocols.
  • Investigate security incidents and practices, documenting findings in detailed reports to identify and mitigate security risks within an organization.
