The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a supervisory security specialist, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 390 IS.

*** Salary ranges includes local market supplements *** This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).

The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level.

The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.

Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of technical methods, principles, and practices similar to a narrow area of a professional field and skill in applying this knowledge to such assignments as the design and planning of difficult, but well precedented projects; knowledge of Physical Security, Information Security, Personnel Security, Computer Security, and TEMPEST program management in support of administrating the Special Security Office for a SCIF; knowledge of DoD and MAJCOM missions, functions, goals and objectives; knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures; ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; extensive knowledge of security incident handling, to include computer incidents and incidents caused by human error and negligence; ability to instruct students on a variety of topics crucial to today's USAF, to include areas in security management, risk assessment and information operations; knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information.

Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree orLL.M., if related OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages.

The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.

Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Knowledge of Physical Security, Information Security, Personnel Security, Computer Security, and TEMPEST program management in support of administrating the Special Security Office for a SCIF. 2.

Knowledge of DoD and MAJCOM missions, functions, goals and objectives. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. 5.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to instruct students on a variety of topics crucial to today's USAF, to include areas in security management, risk assessment and information operations.

Extensive knowledge of security incident handling, to include computer incidents and incidents caused by human error and negligence; knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.

Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

The duty of the employee is to provide immediate and continuing support for combat operations or to support maintenance and repair of combat essential systems of the armed forces.

Performs duty in a combat zone after the evacuation of nonessential personnel in connection with a war or a national emergency declared by Congress or the President, and it is impracticable to convert the employee's position to a position authorized to be filled by a member of the armed forces because of a necessity for that duty to be performed without interruption.

Employee must sign DD Form 2365 as a condition of employment.

Employees could be assigned to any location worldwide providing civilian support to combat operations and could deploy to non-combat locations in response to contingencies, disaster relief, or other emergency operations.

(IAW: Section 1580 of title 10, United States Code) Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development.

The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 55 WG Special Security Office, ensuring that the organizational security program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and security objectives. - Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. - Represents the 55 WG with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with tenant organizations to the SCIF, base unit, and staff agency security representatives.

- Manages and directs the Personnel Security Program. Establishes and maintains oversight for local procedures for processing requests for security clearances for military and civilian personnel.

- Manages and directs the Physical Security and Information Security Program. Provides program management and acts as the focal point for the local physical security program.
