Job Description

Summary

This job involves overseeing security for sensitive facilities and information systems in a naval special warfare unit, including developing policies, conducting assessments, and managing clearances to protect national security.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Member must have knowledge of and practical experience with security disciplines, to include requirements for physical, personal, personnel, TEMPEST, information, and communications.

Must have firm understanding of ICD 705 policies regarding SCIF management.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will develop policies and procedures required to maintain accreditation and physical integrity for SCI facilities in accordance with published guidance and directives.
  • You will provide effective, reasonable, and economical recommendations based on critical on-site examination of buildings, barriers, security forces, protective lighting, and intrusion detection systems.
  • You will perform security reviews and assessment of installed systems or networks; advises, based on findings, on new or revised security configurations and countermeasures.
  • You will review, and evaluate reports, of investigations, personnel files, and other records, regarding granting, denying, revoking, suspending, or restricting security clearances consistent with national security.
  • You will be the primary consultant and advisor to the N2 Director and assist the Command ISSM in the development, formulation, installation, and management of information assurance policy regarding systems security.
  • You will ensure that cybersecurity workforce personnel and users of IS devises are trained and/or certified in all aspects of Cybersecurity IAW with all applicable DoD and Navy Directives and regulations.
