Full Job Description

The primary purpose of this position, Security Specialist, NH-0080-03, is to deliver globally integrated installation and mission support to enhance warfighter readiness and lethality for America's Air and Space Forces.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year, or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, at the next lower grade NH-02, or GS-11 equivalent in other pay system.

Examples of specialized experience includes the ability to establish policies and procedures for matters involving antiterrorism and force protection requirements, policy, procedures, and program status.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and the staff of a small to medium sized organization. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 5.

Knowledge of security forces programs and governing directives, instructions, policies, and procedures.

Additional Conditions of Employment Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret w/ SCI clearance.

Department of War Physical Security Certification conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification.

The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority, or their delegated security career field representative.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507.

Duties of the position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations.

Incumbents must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available. Major Duties:

- Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Force Protection Branch, Protection Services Division, AFIMSC Detachment 4, ensuring that Force Protection and Security Forces work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

- Provide technical and/or administrative direction to one or more subordinates, but occupies less than the required minimum of the position's time.

- Represent AFIMSC, Detachment 4, with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

- Responsible for the overall implementation, oversight, and centralized control of the coordinated antiterrorism and force protection programs for the USAFE-AFAFRICA.

- Plan, conduct, direct the conduct of, or coordinates on security site studies, projects, assessments, and surveys of USAFE-AFAFRICA installations in relationship to anti-terrorism and force protection activities.
