THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1277000 and is part of the J2, National Guard.

Military Grades: ENLISTED ONLY GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately.
Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats.
Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures.
Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.
Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year equivalent to the next lower grade demonstrating experience administering the Special Security Office (SSO) and all SCI-associated security programs and measures.
Providing detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security.
This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.
Initiates and implements policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources. Acts as resident expert on all SCI security matters.
Functions as the technical authority in all other areas of classified security and classification guidance.
Duties require incumbent to maintain currency on a variety of different security program interrelationships, requirements, regulations and guidance in order to apply this knowledge to protect SCI facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction.
Major Duties:
As the Security Specialist (GS-0080-11) the primary purpose of the position is to serve as Chief, Special Security Officer for the state.
Administers the Special Security Office (SSO) and all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security.
This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.
