The Department of Human Services is seeking dedicated Security Officers to join our team at the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services.
In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact while helping to safeguard our residents, staff, and visitors by maintaining the safety and security of the buildings, grounds, and equipment at the Loysville Youth Development Center.

In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring and securing all buildings, grounds, fences, and vehicles through routine patrols and surveillance to ensure a safe and protected campus environment.
Your duties include inspecting plant facilities, dispatching state vehicles, managing the distribution of keys and badges, and overseeing parking and traffic control.
Additionally, you will support program operations by maintaining logs, assisting with searches, responding to cottage emergencies, and transporting youth to help maintain the safety and security of the grounds.
You will also operate the switchboard and monitor radio communications to ensure the efficient functioning of the facility’s communication center.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Work hours will be determined through shift work in a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week operation, including weekends and holidays.
Shifts are 8 hours and consist of 1st shift (6:30 AM to 2:30 PM), 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 10:30 PM), and 3rd shift (10:30 PM to 6:30 AM), with no duty-free lunch.
You will work a five-day work week with two regular days off. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
