This job is for a security officer in the Air National Guard who advises the wing commander on anti-terrorism efforts and leads the defense force, overseeing law enforcement, physical security, and protection programs for the base.

This SECURITY OFFICER position, is located in the Mission Support Group, Security Forces Squadron (SFS) and is part of the CA 129 RQW.
General Experience: Possess experience, education, or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; ability to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material; ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats; Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures; Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels SECURITY OFFICER, GS-0080-12: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, in: developing, implementing, and executing guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels of security controls; experience performing a a variety of DFC and supervisory functions to include assigning work to subordinates (dual and non-dual status, Active Guard Reserve (AGR), and traditional drill status members) by selective criteria such as the difficulty of the assignment, capabilities of the employee, or present work load assigned to each employee; Experience providing guidance and assistance during emergencies as well as civil disturbances and disturbances involving use of military resources.

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION. Indefinite appointment cannot exceed 5 years.
Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered.
The primary purpose of the SECURITY OFFICER, GS-0080-12, is the principal advisor to the Wing Commander as the Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO) and reports to the Mission Support Group Commander as the Defense Force Commander (DFC) with responsibility over the SFS; develops, implements, and manages the wing law enforcement, physical security, wing security, and Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection (AT/FP) programs.
May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.
