Job Description

Summary

Full Job Description

The position is located within Indian Health Service in various health care facilities throughout the nation.

The incumbent performs protective service work in guarding federally owned, leased buildings or property, protecting Government equipment, materials and controlling access into the facility along with public safety.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Performing security or protective services to safeguard personnel, property, facilities, or equipment; Controlling access to buildings or restricted areas and enforcing security rules, regulations, or procedures; Conduct patrols on foot or by vehicle to identify and help prevent unauthorized or suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unsafe conditions; Responding to alarms, disturbances, or routine emergency situations in accordance with established procedures; Observing, reporting, and documenting security incidents or violations; Exercising judgment to recognize security issues and take appropriate action within established guidelines.

Experience must demonstrate the ability to independently perform recurring security duties consistent with the GS-5 level.

NOTE: This position is restricted to Veterans' Preference eligible in accordance with 5 U.S.C. § 3310 and 5 CFR § 330.401, as long as qualified preference eligible are available.

Certain permanent Federal employees may be considered without regard to Veterans' Preference.
