This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) &Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTF) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service About the Position: This position is located at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: leading and/or supervising employees around law enforcement or security in a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization; enforcing rules and regulations pertaining to law enforcement and/or security; and coordinating developmental and/or training needs or programs for security/law enforcement employees.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Chief of Guards assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.
  • Manges a large guard workforce with the primary function of conducting access control to the installation and additional missions such as providing security for the purpose of protecting physical property.
  • Develops and submits budget estimates essential to provide adequate support to conduct access control to the installation.
  • Conducts periodic supervisory meetings relating to manpower, and other assigned Guard Force operational functions.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, directs inspections and executes a program for guard security functions designed primarily for the protection of life and government property and enforcement of laws and regulations.
