Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (ALARM MONITOR) in the Provost Marshall Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing administrative office security support, monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, intrusion detection systems, alarms, mass notification and closed circuit television systems.

GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Perform administrative office security support, monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems (e.g intrusion detection systems, alarms, mass notification, closed circuit television systems); access a database to confirm the proper authorization of visit request; alert appropriate officials of apparent security violations to enforce security laws and regulations; and set, monitor, and secure alarms to protect areas where security requirements are enforced.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) screens for unauthorized activity/activation based on images displayed.
  • You will monitor and operate a Mass Notification System (MNS) to ensure proper dissemination of emergency mass notification messages and ensure proper operation of system.
  • You will maintain alarm control log of all alarm conditions to include setting, resetting, activation, and deactivation to ensure alarms are not malfunctioning.
  • You will utilize Symmetry Security Management System to monitor, troubleshoot, manage, and control site security electronic systems.
  • You will operate a variety of office automation equipment, including copy machines, facsimile machines, networked computers, laser printers, shredders, scanners, and other electronic equipment.
  • You will ensure call rosters on key personnel are accurate and maintain complete and accurate listing of all Fire/Smoke alarm boxes.
