About the Position: The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), a subordinate research laboratory under the U.S.
Army Medical Research and Development Command, is the lead medical biological defense research laboratory for the DOD Chemical Biological Defense Program.

USAMRIID is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DK-02 payband is equivalent to the GS-05 step 1 to GS-08 step 10 level.
In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, will not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position.
Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) performing physical security functions in a restricted access facility; AND (2) providing assistance with the security and protection of personnel, visitors and controlled materials.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DK-01/GS-04).
OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
