The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a security assistant assigned to the Pass & Registration Section of the Plans & Programs Flight and to process various security related documentation In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, to include the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for the GS Security Clerical and Assistance Series 0086.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems.

Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of standardized security methods, rules, regulations, and principles to provide support to security specialists in security administration; and perform nonstandard security assignments and resolve recurring problems.

Knowledge of security procedures pertaining to handling and disposing of classified material, such as classification markings, accountability and control, declassification, and destruction procedures.

OR EDUCATION: Applicants must have successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Primary Purpose Continued: Including requests for issuance of Contractor Access Badges, Proximity Badges, identification credentials, as well as other documents to include vehicle registrations, vehicle passes and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) cards and passes.

Duties: Processes applications and issues identification cards contract access badges, vehicle registration, and temporary passes to eligible personnel. Maintains controlled forms.

Maintains control logs for identification cards and contractor access badges for maintenance and destruction of accountable forms in accordance with applicable AF instructions.

Carries out routine, miscellaneous clerical tasks. Performs clerical support duties to ensure efficient office operations. Provides general customer service.
