This job involves providing administrative and secretarial support to high-level officials in a Michigan prison, including scheduling meetings, managing records, handling communications, and dealing with confidential information.
It also includes completing special projects and occasionally backing up other secretaries.
A good fit would be someone with solid office experience who is organized, trustworthy, and comfortable working inside a secure correctional facility.
This position provides secretarial support to the Assistant Deputy Wardens office within the Saginaw Correctional Facility.
This position coordinates office activities (scheduling of activities, meeting room reservations, schedule interviews, etc.), schedule meetings, prepare and maintain office records, reports and corresponds on behalf of the ADWs.
This position receives, monitors, evaluates and prioritizes incoming verbal and written communication. This position handles confidential information.
This individual also completes special projects and other duties as assigned. This position may also provide back-up coverage for the Warden/Deputy Warden's Secretary, when needed.
This position is located within the secure perimeter of a correctional facility.

Applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony are ineligible for employment with the Department of Corrections until satisfactory completion of any sentence imposed, including parole or probation.
New hires to the MDOC along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification.
All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
