This temporary promotion may be extended up to a total of 5 years or made permanent without further competition.

To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
(A typing test may later be required.) GS-10: To be eligible at the GS-10 level, you must meet as least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level.
Specialized experience is defined as serving as an executive secretary to a senior executive (such as a Chief Executive Officer, senior officer of a large law firm, or equivalent) and perform a wide range of high level secretarial and administrative support functions in a legal environment.
Examples of specialized experience include managing schedules, calendars, travel arrangements; reviewing outgoing correspondence and developing and modifying office procedures; arranging high level meetings; and dealing with senior executives such as state and federal government; developing background information and writing introductions, speeches and closing remarks.
Major Duties:
As a Secretary (Office Automation) to the United States Attorney (USA) for the Central District of California, you will provide a wide variety of technical and administrative support services.
Typical work assignments will include: Speaking on behalf of the USA, accurately reflecting philosophies, policies, goals, and management objectives.
Exercising exclusive control over the USA's calendar for all appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences with complete authority for commitment of time.
Review all incoming and outgoing correspondence. Arranging conferences and meetings for the USA, preparing agenda, notifying participants, and arranging luncheons.
Develops a variety of recurring reports and documents. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
