The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for is March to October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience.

To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time).

If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).

You must possess all of the following experience: Implementing established natural resource management projects; Following instructions and standardized procedures; Collecting and organizing field data; Ensuring quality control of data collected; Performing routine and recurring testing of collected samples; Recording data collected and providing preliminary assessment and classification of the information; Assisting in the preparation of resource.

You resume must include hours per week worked.

-OR- EDUCATION: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position.

One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7.

One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study.

If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. You must include transcripts.

-OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take the number of graduate credits completed.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Identify and document species composition, abundance and natural resource conditions. Lead and/or coordinate volunteers and youth work groups in carrying out stewardship and science activities.

Implement established natural resource management projects using appropriate resource management equipment. Assist in natural resource data entry and preparation of reports, plans, and guidelines.

Provides information, advice, assistance, and training to others involved in projects and research.
