About the Position: This position is located within the Baumholder Community Schools in the DoDEA Europe Central District.

The purpose of the position is to perform material management and support services, providing adequate and timely logistics support to the students, staff, and faculty of a DoDEA School.

Federal employees in Baumholder, Germany are currently entitled to receive a 42% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This percentage is subject to change.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.

Add the two percentages.

OR Specialized experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring inventory levels to ensure organizational preparedness, compiling financial data to assist in budget projections, and coordinating repair or maintenance of equipment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this grade, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement GS-06: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement GS-05: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks may not be promoted more than 2 grades within the preceding 52 weeks.

Additional Information: Selectees initially recruited from the United States may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc.

Additional Information regarding overseas appointments: If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.

Major Duties:

  • Assure all supply transactions are recorded in an automated system and that copies of documents are file appropriately to maintain an adequate automated and hard-copy audit trail.
  • Utilize supply and logistic support systems for standard requisitioning, stock, storing, records and issuing procedures.
  • Assure school support requirements are prepared, edited, and submitted to the Area Director's office for the purchase of supplies and equipment.
  • Set or revise stock levels for authorized items available through the supply system for school stockage.
  • Serve as property custodian maintaining a perpetual inventory of nonexpendable property and supply records for durable items in the school.
  • Verify and record serial numbers upon receipt of goods, bar codes items.
  • Assist in monitoring the school safety and security programs to ensure compliance with program requirements of Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) and the supporting military installation.
  • Assists Area and District personnel with physical security inspections to ensure adequate security measures are in place and adhered to.
