Marion County Public Works is seeking a Scale Attendant to serve as the first point of contact for customers at our disposal sites.
In this role, you’ll greet visitors, operate a computerized scale system, issue tickets, handle payments, and keep accurate records—all while providing excellent customer service in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Operates a computerized scale system, types, inspects loads and determines correct rate to charge, visually confirms the information on the monitor, measures and computes volume, collect fees and make change, keeps accurate records, balances paperwork and completes closing paperwork for deposits as assigned.
Successfully interacts with a variety of personality types.
Answers the telephone, uses calculator, Visa/MC authorization terminal, and various computer components.
Maintains cleanliness of scale deck and approach, scale booth and surrounding area.
Ability to climb up on vehicles to inspect loads.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
May participate in basic incident command training and drills to maintain proficiency in supporting EOC activities, including carrying out field work in connection with EOC operations.
May be assigned clerical/support, incident liaison, or other duties at any location within or near the county.
Emergency Management duties may require working long hours outside normal business hours, weekend/holiday work, and may occur with little or no advance notice.
