Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Note: Applicants with a major in public health, environmental health, environmental science, chemistry, biology, physical science or agriculture may be given preference in appointment.
Special Requirements: Within 12 months of appointment, must successfully complete a sanitarian’s training course as approved by the West Virginia State Board of Sanitarians to become eligible to be issued a permit as a sanitarian-in-training.
