If so, look no further! Our Motor Vehicle Division is looking to fill two Administrative Support Assistant 3 positions.

As a member of our team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining safe mobility for every traveler in our state by providing upbeat, quality, and professional customer service and meeting customer needs in all program areas of the office.

This is done by reviewing applications, requesting personal information from motor vehicle records, and maintaining records of current Driver's Privacy Protection Act agreements.

Location: Systems and Administration Bureau, MVD, Ankeny, Iowa

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p,m.; Flex schedule available


Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Enter and process citation data received from all 99 Iowa clerk of court offices.

  • Transmit and negate convictions and withdrawals for CDL holders to the appropriate licensing jurisdictions.

  • Review and process driving record inquiries from county attorneys, insurance carriers, courts, and other authorized sources.

  • Evaluate appeals and hearing requests related to driving privileges.

  • Process OWI-related actions including Implied Consent violations and court-ordered sanctions.

  • Manage suspensions and reinstatements for non-payment of fines, SR22/SR26 filings, and financial responsibility compliance.

  • Review and update CDL medical certificates and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

  • Administer Driver Improvement Program actions and apply required sanctions.

  • Determine eligibility for reinstatement of driving privileges and provide guidance to customers and stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate driving records in accordance with Iowa Code, Administrative Rules, and federal MCSIA regulations.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
  1. Two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work.
  2. A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
  3. Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 2 or eighteen months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 1.
