Full Job Description

You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the NAVY EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMAND of NAVAL CONSTRUCTION TRAINING CTR.

This is a RE-ADVERTISMENT of Announcement Number: ST-12886064-26-PRS Applicants that have previously applied NEED to reapply to this announcement.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of safety and occupational health concepts, principles and practices, laws and regulations pertinent to the complex administrative responsibilities involved in planning, organizing, directing, operation and evaluating a safety and occupational health program; 2) Ability to perform in depth and deliberate risk analyses of command operations; AND 3) Ability to perform accident investigation, analyze reports to determine causal factors, and identify trends that prove effective in devising accident/injury control measures.

  • You will develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive safety and occupational health programs.
  • You will conduct safety indoctrination for all new personnel and students and record all safety/environment training, inspections, and follow-ups in all databases.
  • You will track and report training, mishap reporting, inspections, medical surveillance, and safety metrics monthly to the Executive Officer and Commanding Officer.
  • You will prepare and review safety-related directives and assist in drafting command-wide policies.
  • You will serve as the command's High-Risk Course Training Safety Officer, ensuring qualification and training compliance for all high-risk instructors.
