The Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System (SERS) is seeking a motivated, inquisitive, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Retirement Technician Trainee in our Benefits Determination Division.
The employee in this position will be promoted to Retirement Technician upon successful completion of a one-year training program. Read on for more details!
In this role you will be responsible for processing retirement and disability requests from the SERS regional counseling centers.
This work involves reviewing various employment and earnings records to gather the necessary information required to compute the best benefit for each of our members.
It requires a keen eye for detail and an ability to perform basic mathematic calculations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, depending on operational needs and progress in learning assigned tasks.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office at the work location specified in this job posting.
