Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900
Typical requirements: Executive-level leadership experience. Senior executive qualifications required.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves helping spouses and beneficiaries of deceased state employees navigate and receive retirement benefits, health coverage, and payments from various Alaska public retirement systems.
It's a supportive role in a government office, processing claims during tough times for families.
A good fit would be someone detail-oriented with customer service experience, comfortable with numbers and paperwork, and able to adapt to changing situations.

What You Will Be Doing
This position will serve as a Retirement and Benefits Technician II for the Survivor Unit Team.
The team assists a spouse or a beneficiary of a recently deceased member to receive monetary and/or health benefits.
The team processes death benefits for the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS), Teachers' Retirement System (TRS), Judicial Retirement System (JRS), National Guard Naval Militia Retirement System (NGNMRS), Elected Public Officials Retirement System (EPORS), the Defined Contributions Plans, Alaska Supplemental Benefits Annuity Plan (SBS) and Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP).

The workspace is located on the sixth floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau. The hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
